Feh
Feh was a beautiful cream Saluki. She was a brood bitch on a puppy farm and spent the first six and a half years of her life in a cold shed churning out puppies for profit. I visited the place pretending to want a puppy. In the end I bought three – which one should never do – and then I saw Feh. I couldn’t take any more that day but wrote to the owner and asked if I could buy her. They agreed and so she came to me.
She had to stay here for a couple of weeks because I had taken in another Saluki from a travellers’ site where there might have been parvo-virus. After the incubation period Feh and the other Saluki went off to Saluki Welfare. However, she had decided that she wanted to stay with me and the gang. So she trashed one place she was rehomed to and was difficult in another home. Each time she ended up back in kennels. So after a few months I asked Saluki Welfare if I could have her back. Fortunately they agreed and she slotted back in perfectly.
Feh was part of the family at Kim’s Home for nine years. She was a gentle, often aloof dog, who was always afraid of men. She was affectionate on her terms. But she never let me out of her sight when she was running free. She was my special companion in the kitchen when I was cooking. She adored raw veggies especially broccoli. I used to buy it just for her.
Feh was 15 on 24th October, 2012. She left us peacefully on the 5th December.
